First full-color QLED-display from Samsung

by on July 28, 2010

The Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology team showcase the world first Quantom dot full color display.
The Display has a size of 4 inches and a QVGA Display with 320×240 pixel and is implemented on a glass substrate.
Samsung’s four-inch diagonal display is controlled using an active matrix, which means each of its color quantum-dot pixels is turned on and off with a thin-film transistor.
Tae Ho Kim from Samsung says that QLEDs Display would consume a fifth to a tenth of the power of LCDs.
But there are many research and engineering issues to be solved, they think that we will see the first QLED Displays in 2014-2015 on the market.
